It´s an honor for me to be standing before you today. I would like to tell you, respectful audience, that for my classmates and me, today is a very special day. Three years ago we faced a wonderful commitment, an unparalleled and unique experience that would transform our lives and expand our vision of the pursuit of opportunities for personal and professional success. These three years in ¡Supérate! were not easy at all, but the best learning adventure for us.
We had overcome hundreds of troubles and obstacles to achieve our goals. At the beginning, lots of things came into our minds because we had never spoken a word of English or even touch a computer. We didn´t know how to put into practice our values and believe in ourselves to be better people and to get along well with everyone. Therefore, it was a big challenge for us to be every single day in the program.
I´m the oldest of two siblings and the first graduated from my family. My life experience is very similar to my classmate’s stories. Some days were really hard. I remember when I started studying in ¡Supérate!, I used to live with my grandmother, my aunt and my cousin. By that time, my grandmother got really sick and unfortunately she passed away. Because of this, my aunt and my cousin left home and they told me that I needed to stop studying and go with them, but I didn´t want to do that. After that, I never saw them back again, it was the worst thing I have ever gone through. All things seemed sad and black for me since that day, but in spite of the problems we had, every single day I went to ¡Supérate!, helped me to forget about my problems and all the bad moments. I understood that having a good time with friends and learning every day was a good way to say goodbye to all the bad things. Something that really helped me was the supports of my teachers and their hopeful words when I needed them the most.
First of all, we have to be very thankful with the supreme being, that we cannot see but we can feel, God. We have to thank him for everything, since we were born until this moment, for every success and every trial which made us stronger so we could grow up and learn from the mistakes we made. So that´s why we firstly say thanks God. I would also like to say the magic word to the special people who gave us the chance to be these three years in ¡Supérate! This opportunity couldn´t have been possible without the wonderful and human idea of Sagrera Palomo family, unconditional support of Regalado family and CASSA. Also to our strategic ally Microsoft El Salvador. The software and tools you have given us helped us to improve a lot. Thanks to all of you for your help.
Now, we might ask who were the responsibles, who showed us the techniques to do and to give our best even when the situation brought us down: our teachers. The ones who taught us not only the knowledge but the good values and the good attitude as well. They, that when we were through doubts and frustrations always pushed us ahead. And it´s because they´re not ordinary teachers. Ordinary teachers, teach their students from the book, but our teachers did more than that, they taught us from their hearts.
And last but not least, our friends. I guess we remember clearly how our frits day in ¡Supérate! was: new faces, quiet and insecure people. Now, we have grown up as people. We lived happy, sad, good and bad moments together, we passed them through; new experiences, funny moments and so many other things. These memories will be in our minds, but the people we lived them with will be in our hearts. To conclude, we can surely say that ¡Supérate! is not a dream anymore; it´s the reality and we have finished these three years as a team. Big opportunities area coming for us and it would be our decision to take them or leave them, to choose the wrong or the right way at every crossroad in our lives. This is why we studied in ¡Supérate!: to give to our community, the same as we received and to be the future nation that will help the transformation of a better El Salvador, where there are opportunities to everyone like the one we had.
